Privacy Policy

We may collect account information such as your name, email address, profile image, authentication provider, and session data. When you use the catalog, we store record metadata such as artist, album title, year, genre, label, barcode, Discogs identifiers, tracklists, notes, status, and dates added or updated.

Photos you capture or select for recognition are sent to our backend and its image-analysis provider to identify the record. The normal iOS scanning flow does not save the captured photo as a permanent catalog cover: it saves an external cover URL, usually from Discogs. The web app may store an uploaded photo as a cover when the selected result has no external cover image. Cover images and catalog data may also be cached on your device.

We also process subscription records, daily image-scan counts, device identifiers used for sessions, and diagnostic information such as errors and recognition duration. These support plan access, synchronization, security, and troubleshooting.

We use your information to authenticate your account, provide and improve the catalog experience, identify records from uploaded images, save your collection, show album details, and display marketplace or preview information when available.

If you purchase a Premium subscription, payment and billing information is processed by Stripe for web purchases or Apple for in-app purchases on iOS. VinylVault stores the provider and subscription identifiers, product and transaction identifiers, subscription status, and expiration information needed to manage your plan. We do not receive or store your full payment card number for these purchases.

VinylVault connects with Google and Apple for supported sign-in methods, Google AI services for requested image recognition and album insights, Discogs for metadata and optional collection synchronization, Apple Music for audio previews, and Stripe or Apple for subscription payments. Hosting and database providers process the information needed to operate the service. These services process information according to their own privacy policies.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with service providers only as needed to operate the app, authenticate users, process images, retrieve metadata, host the service, or comply with legal obligations.

We keep account and catalog information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may delete catalog items inside the app. In iOS, open Settings and choose Delete account to request account deletion, then confirm your account email. Apple-linked accounts require Apple identity confirmation so the linked authorization can be revoked. The process removes your Vault account and its associated collection, wishlist, sessions, and stored account images. It does not delete your Apple, Google, or Discogs account or your Discogs collection.

Deleting your Vault account does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage or cancel it through Apple's subscription settings. The account-deletion flow stops a linked Stripe subscription before removing the Vault account. Independent providers may retain their own records under their policies. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so you should use a strong password and keep your account access private.

You can sign in with email/password, Google, or Sign in with Apple, update app settings, and manage your catalog. Photo recognition and album insights are initiated when you request them. You can choose barcode scanning or manual search instead of sending a photo for recognition. Discogs linking and public collection sharing are optional. When you enable public sharing, the selected collection metadata is public; account credentials, payment data, access tokens, and private notes are not included.

VinylVault procesa datos de cuenta, colección, sesiones, compras, uso del escaneo y diagnóstico para ofrecer el servicio. Las fotos solicitadas para reconocimiento se envían al backend y al proveedor de análisis. El flujo normal de iOS guarda la URL de portada externa, no la foto capturada como portada permanente; en la web se puede almacenar la foto cuando la coincidencia no tiene portada. No vendemos tu información personal. Usamos Google y Apple para los métodos de acceso disponibles, Google para funciones de IA solicitadas, Discogs para datos y sincronización opcional, Apple Music para previews, y Stripe en web o Apple en iOS para pagos.

Puedes eliminar tu cuenta desde Ajustes en iOS, confirmando el correo y, si corresponde, tu identidad de Apple. Se eliminan la cuenta de Vault y sus datos asociados; esto no elimina tus cuentas ni tu colección en servicios externos. Una suscripción de Apple debe cancelarse por separado en los ajustes de suscripciones de Apple. El flujo detiene una suscripción Stripe vinculada antes de borrar la cuenta. Los proveedores externos conservan sus propios registros según sus políticas; los logs operativos y respaldos pueden permanecer conforme a los procesos de retención del hosting.
